Thermal Testing SPSDL Antennas

thermaltestingspsdlantennas.jpg

The SPSDL antennas has to work in the very dry and cold (-105F) so John Oberright/ GSFC engineer modified a Spacecraft thermal vacuum chamber to simulate this environment.

He used Dry Nitrogen to simulate the dry atmosphere - a first for these vacuum chambers the generally simulate Outer Space. COOL idea and it worked great.
