NASAMike developed the PC-based GOES-GVAR system with GTI and Shawn Terry back in the early 1990s, for the US Air Force Global Weather Center. The 12-ft antenna system was then installed at the GSFC Visitor Center around 1994. From there he put that system on the roof of bldg 16 at GSFC in 1996 and started collecting data on site with the 486 PC using OSL.
